Frequently Asked Questions
Email marketing strategy, Mailchimp, and digital marketing services for B2B, nonprofit, and higher education organizations.
-
We are a full-service email and digital marketing agency, and email has been at the center of everything we do since 2008. We work exclusively with B2B companies, nonprofits, and higher education institutions because those sectors have fundamentally different email programs than e-commerce, and we have spent more than 25 years learning the difference. Our work covers the full program: strategy, audience segmentation, copywriting, template design, campaign execution, automation builds, deliverability and performance reporting. We don't hand off a plan and disappear. We see it through.

Mailchimp Pro Partner is the highest certification level Mailchimp offers, and not every agency qualifies. Earning it requires demonstrated expertise, a track record of real client outcomes, and active engagement with Mailchimp's partner program. As a Pro Partner, we have access to priority support, dedicated account resources, and early visibility into platform updates that most users simply don't receive. We were among the first agencies recognized as Mailchimp Experts when the program launched in 2015, and we have held Pro Partner status since the certification tier was introduced in 2020. That history matters because it means our platform knowledge is deep, not recent.

Look for three things: genuine platform expertise, sector experience, and honesty about results. Platform expertise means more than knowing how to send your campaign the right way. It means understanding deliverability, segmentation, automation logic, and how the platform behaves across different account types. Sector experience matters because B2B, nonprofit, and higher education programs have different goals, different audiences, and different compliance considerations than e-commerce. Any agency worth hiring should be able to show you specific, measurable results from actual client work, not just case study language that carefully avoids any real numbers. If they can't, keep looking.

Our audits are comprehensive reviews of your entire email program. A full audit covers email preview testing across more than 50 email clients, subject line and preheader evaluation, template branding and mobile responsiveness review, performance benchmarking against sector-specific standards, list health assessment covering deliverability, bounce rates, unsubscribe trends, and engagement decay, an automation gap analysis identifying sequences you should have but don't, and a prioritized set of strategic recommendations. You receive a written report with a clear improvement plan. Not a spreadsheet of data you have to decode on your own. An audit is the lowest-risk way to start working with us: no long-term commitment, just an honest assessment of where you stand and what to do next.n

Email is the connective tissue of the B2B buyer journey. Prospects rarely buy on first contact. The average B2B buying cycle spans multiple touchpoints over weeks or months, and email is the most cost-effective way to stay visible through all of them. The programs we build most often for B2B clients include lead nurture sequences triggered by content downloads or form completions, newsletter programs that keep your brand in front of decision-makers, post-event follow-up sequences, and reengagement campaigns for dormant prospects or past clients. The goal is always the same: deliver value that builds trust and stay present at the moment a prospect is ready to move.

Nonprofits are one of our three core sectors, and we have worked with nonprofit clients across healthcare advocacy, education, arts and culture, social services, journalism and research organizations. We understand what nonprofit email actually demands: donor stewardship, advocacy mobilization, grant reporting communications, volunteer coordination, and event-driven campaigns, often all running simultaneously with lean internal teams. After we audited and rebuilt one national nonprofit's email program, they saw a 12% increase in click rate and a 26% decrease in unsubscribe rate within 60 days of implementing our recommendations. That kind of result comes from understanding the sector, not just the platform.
-
Yes, and email is especially well-suited to nonprofits with limited staff because it scales. Once the strategy and automation infrastructure are in place, a sophisticated program can run largely on its own. Your team makes high-level decisions. The program handles execution. We design for sustainability, not for ongoing dependency on our involvement. The goal is to build something you can run confidently long after the initial engagement is done.
-
We work with colleges and universities on alumni engagement and giving programs, continuing education enrollment, and communications from individual departments and academic units. Each of these audiences has distinct expectations, and a one-size email approach fails all of them. We build segmented, personalized sequences that account for where a contact is in their relationship with the institution and what they actually need to hear at that stage. The right message, at the right moment, to the right segment.

Scope and engagement type determine the investment. We work on defined projects, including audits, platform migrations, campaign launches, and automation builds, as well as ongoing retainer engagements. Many clients begin with an audit. It is the most accessible entry point, it delivers a clear picture of where to focus, and it does not require a long-term commitment. We don't apply a one-size-fits-all pricing model. We scope to your actual needs, and we will tell you honestly which engagement type makes sense for where you are. Reach out and we will have a straight conversation about it.
-
Yes. Mailchimp is our primary platform specialty, but we work with all major email service providers including HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo, Constant Contact, Pardot and others. We evaluate platform fit for each client based on size, budget, technical requirements, and goals. And we will tell you directly if Mailchimp is or isn't the right tool for your situation. We are not here to push a platform. We are here to build a program that works.
-
Yes. We have extensive experience connecting email platforms with CRM systems including Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, and others. We are also Zapier Silver Partners and provide custom integrations for clients who need to move data between systems more efficiently. Proper CRM integration means your sales team sees email engagement data in the context of their pipeline, and your email program can trigger or suppress sends based on deal stage, contact activity, and relationship status. That is the difference between an email program that operates in a silo and one that actually supports your revenue goals.
-
The easiest first step is scheduling a discovery call. We will ask about your current program, your goals, and your challenges. From there, we will recommend the right entry point, whether that is an audit, a defined project, or an ongoing engagement. No pressure, no pitch. Just an honest conversation about what makes sense for where you are. Visit 108degrees.com/contact or email us at marketing@108degrees.com.
